its a well constructed case for the kindle 2 and its cheap but not its build

Would not recommend this item. While I knew it was not leather, it has a strong plastic/pvc odor. I left it in a window sill for several days to air out but that did not help much. If you put it in a briefcase or purse or tote, the odor will permeate. A well designed product except for this fatal flaw.

After spending a lot of time exploring options for keeping my new Amazon Kindle 2 safe at a reasonable price, I selected this item. I read all of the reviews and was prepared for the “synthetic” smell that accompanied my purchase upon arrival. What no one mentioned is that this item just looks cheap and poorly made. The inside lining is all bubbled, as though the two layer of material did not adhere to the glue that was used to put it together.
Plusses: Easy to get Kindle in place and it does stay nice and secure.
The snap closure may appear to be on backwards, but the thought that went into this was smart – when you fold the cover back, that closure does not get in your way.
Overall, I can’t complain too much because it wasn’t a ridiculously expensive item and is doing the job. Do I think it will hold up for the long term? Not so sure – quite happy I purchased a special case that holds it all from a store on [...]

Excellent price, quite good construction and quite slim also.
The magnetic clip is a plus and it cam fold back for easier usage.
Smooth interior also.
Generally speaking top quality for it’s price!

It is definately a good product for the price. I am glad that they changed the description to say “faux” leather instead of leather. My only concern is the smell. It has a strong chemical odor and it’s annoying. I hope that over time the smell will dissipate. Otherwise, it’s nice.
