Web site design depending how good you are at it is a better field.
But you would find work faster in web security and would get more money starting out

If you’re good you won’t have any trouble in either.

If you’re just getting started, you’ll find more opportunities in web design.

But go with your skillset and interest. If you’re more creative and artistics, go with site design. If you’re more analytical and logical, go with web security.

    website designing
you have to be creative to be good at this job

Both skills take training. So it really comes down to what your interests are and what have you had training in. Web design takes someone who is creative, understands the internet business from programming, search, etc. and also understands usability. Web security is more on the IT side of things and you would need to know computers, i.e. programming or hardware setup and internet protocols. In essence, which side of your brain do you use and is most enjoyable – the right side being creative or the left side being technical. Both are worlds apart. But the way you asked which you can find a job faster may suggest that you need further training and to decide which is better for you in a field that you will enjoy the balance of your life. It’s a big decision!

I go for security. Nowadays everybody builds websites. Well build is a strong term with all the 1 2 3 click programs around.
    (I myself work with Dreamweaver)

Security needs more studying and more keeping up to date so there’s an effort to be made which makes the competition less. Plus website security is always an issue.
Even if the website content is uninteresting for hackers it can be or will be hacked to use as a gateway to hack other sites.
And this is something webhosters don’t like.
