My virus and anti-spywear program had gotten out of date. (I know this is my fault) but by the time I noticed it, it was to late. Now the web page Security Center over-rides my home page and no matter what I do this page pops up. I new Icon showed up in my tool bar at the same time with a real annoying bubble that says I am at risk. I have tried disabling this icon but just keeps coming back everytime I start my machine. PLEASE HELP
How do I stop the web page Security Center from over riding my home page?

Security Center is a part of the Windows OS. It is not a web page as such. It will always appear if it detects the absence of an antivirus program. You can install a free antivirus such as AVG Free Edition to placate it.
You have been infected by a zlob variant.
For more information, click here:

If you need more help in dealing with this nasty trojan, you can use the disinfection service:

Good luck!
Is the scam advertising on that “Security Center” trying to sell you, one (or more) of these useless products? If it is one of these, then it is likely an infection called Smitfraud that is causing the phony warnings. It is scam advertising trying to swindle you. And a link to a free removal tool is down at the bottom.

There are others. The “black-hats” are adding more rogue programs weekly.
If so, then you most likely have a serious Smitfraud ( downloaded by the Zlob Trojan) infection and a free removal tool called SmitFraudFix with the removal procedure is here:
http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix_En.php
More infomation and another free removal tool called RogueFix can be found here:

Most “All-Purpose” malware apps such as AVG, Norton, Spybot etc unfortunatly can not remove or even detect this vile pest called Smitfraud.
Good luck.
